The Golden Girls House floorplan v.1 by nikneuk The Golden Girls House floorplan v.1 by nikneuk
The house of Blanche Deveraux, Rose Nylund, Dorothy Sporznak and Sophia Petrillo in Miami.

Probably the more complex floorplan that i have done.
I placed Blanche's bedroom is to te left of the living room (as appears in the pìlot episode), the lanai ix a mixture of many versions appeared trough the serees and I made some changes in Rose's bedroom to fit the rest of the rooms.

Some sets have changed throughout the different seasons and this floorplan is a mixture of various of them.

This is a hand drawed plan, in scale, coloured with colour pencils and with full details of furniture, fabric, timbers and complements...

The design is made according with the "real" apartment respecting the spaces, proportions, furniture and objets presents in the studio set.

Suggestion!.... To help this already fabulous plan you've rendered.... To open the mysterious laundry room to the outside, simply make this cut/extension/insertion: cut along the wall backing the kitchen sink and the washer and dryer, follow this cut through the bedroom hallway and turn out and around the columns of the lanai; using this cut, extend the bedroom hallway (and that outer part of the lanai) about four or five feet; now insert an entrance to the laundry room; maybe add a gravel path along the side of the house and hooking around to this entrance :) You could also extend the bedroom hallway another five or six feet (as much as you like, really) and give those first two bedrooms (the blue and orange ones) a shared bath; then, the big back bedroom can have a private bathroom ;) For Blanche!

Oh! Right! Yes, Blanche needs seclusion and sound-proofing. Ha :) Anyway, really cool work you do, and I totally love your drawing of Frasier's place.

Don't worry...
In the last two drawings I made for customers who ordered original handmade drawings I added a new entry of the house from that zone between the kitchen and Sophia's bedroom extending a little bit the lenght of the corridor.
But I prefer to mantain Blanche's bedroom at the left of the house as appears in the pilot episode also mataining 4 dooors in the corridor as in the rest of the episodes.
I think is the most coherent option.
But thatnks for your suggestion...

Love this! I've always tried figuring this home's layout since I was young but quick question. The girls would sometimes come in from the room where you have the W/D (washer & drawer) (ie. during the Hurricane episode where Rose & Blanche use it come in the back way when their dresses as the Nun's for the play their in.  or the time Dorothy uses it to sneak out the house when she starts to see Stan again behind Sophia back). Could you not fit it in or figure it? Where you actually have entrance/exit from garage to the house actually seems like the logical fix for it (though we never actually see what's to the beside/behind of them when their sitting down ton eat) but still I just wanted to know. I house design is one of those things I've actually always tried to figure out and you've help to ease my mind.

Thanks. Great job!

Yes, you are right...
The entrance from the kitchen area is a... narrative device.
It makes little sense because, in any view of the outside of the house, the garage is located in front of the house, not behind it.
Through my Etsy shop I sell handmade drawings and I did a special design for my last customer changing this area to create a new access from the outside of the house.
I just imagined that there is a open parking area behind the kitchen with a separate entrance.

There is a rear entrance in many episodes, that is the rear left of the Kitchen.  That is where they typically exited to the 'garage'.  And yet, that is where you have the w/d and behind that, a bedroom!

I know that, of course, there is no way the house could match all of the entrances/exits they show, but that rear kitchen door is used in many episodes, unless of course, you want stan showing up from inside the washer or dryer!

I know perfectly...
I have seen a looooot of episodes to make this floorplan.
Including the many episodes in wich some characters enters to the kitchen from the bottom of the kitchen.
But this "house" is a nonsense...
One of the most incoherent set planification of the worl of sitcoms.
And I had to take decisions
My idea with this project was to represent these houses as real houses.
Y don't want to represent the studio sets.
And for my was very important the exterior of the house (both the original and the recreation in the backlot of Disney Studios) and in both the garag appears to the right of the entry door, in the front part of the house.
I could have drawn a labyrinthine passage from the garage to the rear part where I placed th W/D.
But that would have been absurd...

The situation of the bedrooms in the show is a nonsense.
In the pilot the bedoom of Blanche is placed to the left of the living room (as in my floorplan, above left) and to the right is placed the hallway.
This hallway contains 4 doors:
- Common Bathroom in the door to the left (in blue tones).
- Sophia´s bedroom in the first door to the right (in blue tones).
- Dorothy's bedroom in the second door to the right (in beige tones, comunicated with Sophia's bedroom).
- Rose's bedroom in the door at the bottom of the hallway (at the right of the floorplan, in pink tones).
But in the rest of the episodes the bedroom of Blanche is placed in the hallway with the others bedrooms.
But the hallway stll have only 4 doors !!!
The result of this mistake is the continuous switch of the bedrooms through the show...
