Sheldon, Leonard and Penny Apartment from TBBT by nikneuk Sheldon, Leonard and Penny Apartment from TBBT by nikneuk
.
This is a house-plan based in the apartments of Sheldon, Leonard and Penny from the TV show "The Big Bang Theory".
It's an original hand drawed plan, in scale, coloured with colour pens and with full details of furniture and complements ...
The design is made according with the "real" apartment respecting the spaces, proportions, furniture and objets presents in the studio set.
Some sets have changed throughout the different seasons and this floorplan is a mixture of various of them.

..... wait..
wait... wait... how can the first floor entrance be on the left side when there are two huge apartmens above it? O.o that seems like a huge design flaw.....

You are right...
But I'm not the designer of the sets...
I just draw what I see...

Neat! I was building this in Minecraft and had NO idea the walls were angled. It is very hard to do angles in Minecraft, but I am trying.

My mind is twisted... Amazing! I though that Penny's sofa is in-front-of door, not situated at a right angle. But when I think about it... I give up! :D

You are genius!!!

Hello.
.
I'm glad you like my drawings.
About the couch and the rest of furniture and atrezzo elements in Penny's apartment everything appears a littl bit rotated of misplaced to give the sensation of a messy apartment.
In fact almost all the studio sets (also stage sets from theatre) ar trapeziodal, not squared to play with the sense of space.
The couch usually are placed in front of the audience and the entry door is placed at one side.
1.bp.blogspot.com/-wYxn1bjnQiw…
When Penny or other characters are sit in her sofa they are spaking to the audience / in front of the audience.

If the door was in front of the sofa the audience could not see, hidden behind the door...
4.bp.blogspot.com/-yNvm_KAIL7s…
Have you noticed how is Penny rotating her head to see the door ???
Note that the arm of the couch and the wall of the door are parallel, not confronted.
The perspective deceives us, and in TV, more...
If the door was in front of th sofa she would receive her guests directly face to face...
.
Best regards.
Iņaki

in apartment on right side kitchen is so far away from entrance. Its mean than when somebody returning from the market, with arms full of groceries must go as first acros all nice living room and working room.In that walking thay can drop ( fall) some of foodstuffs in living room and make disorder, smear nice big living room.It will be damage.Move kitchen little bit nearly entrance

My house has the kitchen that far away. All you have to do is set down the groceries, and go back and forth. Plus, they already would have walked all the flights of stairs, so they would be holding them steady already.
Setting them down at the door is better than having to sprint across the living room.

I am not the designer of the sets, I only draw what I see...
If you have some kind of complaint about the design of this apartment you can write to the designers of the CBS...
And don't forget one thing: This is not a real house... don't try to apply the logic of an interior designer.
This is not a matter of architecture, it's only scenography.

it said that the flat. All others is very correct. If you drow only what you see there you done it on good technical way as some architect.
But tell to tham that logic must be everywhere, even in imagination if it is not some abstract way of labor .Even picture of Henry Matisse "Room in red" was seemed confusing on first exhibition. One lady was told to Matisse " mister I think that hand of women on picture is a little longer than it is normal." Matisse told to her "lady , you are in wrong , it is not women -it is picture"

O.K.
I am professional interior designer with 20 years of experience and I know how to create a good and logic distribution...
And seeing these apartments a noticed a lot of mistakes, contradictions, practical errors, etc...
But the rules in real life are not the sames as the rules of a sitcom...
I don't question these designs because I dono't judge them with the logical criteria of interior design...
They fusually fails as interior design but they works perfectly as a backcround to the characters and their stories...

I respect your professional experience and you must know that I am architect and have experience in interior designer in many private and public object 17 years.Even for illustration for one crime story ( in my deviant folder) I spent time to make seriously flore plan and I understand that you do same.So because I give my comment.
I am shure that interior was good for camera position. As in life many time investor change some things ( and I dont like that) , so I am shure that stage manager, main cameraman do the same many time the frame of the movie especially if it's a low-budget film, project....You know with how many details in every sequence in interior, exterior, costume......was made Gone with the wind, Troya ( but in one cadre of movie was aeroplan on the sky!!!!!), Titanic.....

Isn't Penny's couch facing the door? Where is the camera position then?

I try to represent these floorplan as "real" houses.
I don't want to draw the sets...
In the sets there are a "fourth wall" between the sets and the audience and the secondary sets (bedrooms, hallways, bathrooms) are built separatedly in other soundstages.
But you can place the audience and cameras position below, where I wrote the tittle.
