I wanna add that in the case of this house can be seen that the proportions of the tatamis are repeated continouously, in a very armonious game of volumes, throughout the entire house.
This armony in the proportions facilitates the work.
It´s a very simple house but perfect in his proportions.

I'm glad you liked my hobby...
And answering your question:
I am professional interior designer with many years of experience so I have developed my sense space.
Usually I download the series or movies I make screen captures and I am looking for images on the internet.
I fix my eyes in elements with standard dimensions (the heigh of a door or a kitchen worktop, the depth of a bed or a sofa) to deduce the measures of other furniture elements, walls, etc...
It's only a matter of comparissons, deductions and mathematics.
