House of Simpson family - Both floorplans by nikneuk House of Simpson family - Both floorplans by nikneuk
.
These are the floorplans of the Simpson family house from the TV series "The Simpsons".
.
It's an original hand drawed plan, in scale, coloured with colour pens and with full details of furniture and complements ...
Obviously an animated series is not the better example in terms of coherence in the design of the sets and backgrounds so, be comprehensive.
Thanks.

while I agree your designs are amazing, Im not sure if your Simpsons floor plans are accurate... I found the below image which has (the 2nd floor at least) rearranged differently... do you know about this ?

Hello.
.
I'm glad you like my drawings.
.
Those are the floorplans of a real Simpsons house built in Nevada.
rathausartprojects.com/blog/20…
You can find more information about this building simply writting "simpsons real house" in Google.
.
Anyway, don't try to find much logic to a house from a cartoon TV series.
I tried to make it as consistent as possible based on the show.
But the writers change the distribution according to their needs and ideas.
By example, the function of the door at the bottom of the hall has changed continuously: In one episode (I think in the 3D episode) was a wardrobe, in other one a closet full of shelves (when Lisa was bored and find a table-game) and in the episode of the alcohol prohibition was the entrance to the basement.
The bedrooms of Lisa and Bart are parallel and both in the bak of the house. Remember the episode of the Lisas fright's, the one based in "Rear window" and the other one with the cementery ???
In fact in the "Rear window" episode Bart's windows appears clearly in th e backside (where I placed his bedroom) but Bart is witness of the apparent crime of Nel Flanders... but Flander's house is parallel to Simpsons house !!!
How is this possible ???  Cause is a TV show...
.
In your floorplan I see many differences/mistakes comparing with the TV series, specially in the upper floor.
As I said before kid's bedrooms are placed both at the bak of the house and master bedroom above living room.
The common bathrrom is placed above the garage. In fact this part of the floor is slightly recessed as you can see in any view of the exterior of the house and in your floorplan all the frontside in the upper floor is aligned and flat.
Etc, etc...
.
So I think my floorplan is more accurate.
The only license Itook was the walls in the garage to locate the stairs to the basement and  in the hallway from the kitchen to the garage cause was impossible place the rumpus room as bigger as appeared.
But probably I will change this in the future.

.
Best regards and happy Christmas.
Iñaki

ps can you explain what the room is across from Barts room (floor is same color as upstairs hallway)

also what is the stairs on the right side (top corner) of the garage ?

.
I have no explanation for that door across Bart's bedroom.
It's... just there.
In the hallway upstairs usually you can count 6 doors:
1. Master bedroom (the closest to the stairs)
2. Lisa's bedroom
3. Bart's bedroom
4. Common bathroom (at the bottom of the hallway)
5. Maggie's bedroom.
6. And that door, occasionally changed for some kind of ventilation window.
media.moddb.com/images/members…
I simply imagined an storage room to fit the space and give a sense to that (sometimes dissapearing) door.
It's like a wildcard mutable in anything the screenwriters need.
A rehearsal studio, by example:
edgecast.metatube-files.buscaf…
.
The stairs in the garage are the stairs to the basement.
Is I said in the last post the configuration of the door of the hall (across the front door) has changed many times.
Sometimes has a wardrobe, a dresser and several other times the stairs to the basement.
Even in one episode they created a new door just behind the stairs to place the stairs to the basement.
Compare these two shots:
simpsonswiki.com/w/images/thum…
i.imgur.com/vBtbAsd.png
But other times the stairs to the basement are placed to the right side of the house, not in the middle.
So, finally I decide to draw there the stairs to the basement.
I know, the shape of the garage is a clean rectangle, without these angles to locate the stairs, but the only other solution would be place the stairs in an outer home annex.
I don't know why but the matter of these stairs is not clear.
The basement itself changed a lot depending of the necesities of each chapter.
But logic says that the stairs it would be at right side, not in the middle:
r.fod4.com/s=w950,pd1/o=85/htt…
If the stairs to the basement they were in the middle and there is a wall in the middle, What about the other half of the basement? Where is? The house just have half basement?
.
But well, is an animated series.
If they need an emergency entrance because an hurricane os coming to Springfield magically a new entrance appears in the backyard.
Don't try to fund much logic...

Except Maggie's room is more towards the end of the house where the bathroom is and comes towards the front and the bathroom is where Maggie's room currently sits but slightly smaller

Yes, but no...
.
Seeing this clip you can see Homer delivering Maggie to a room at the end of the hallway (where I placed the bathroom):
www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nzvicp…
But seeing this other clip there is no room at the end of the same hallway:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Ff0c4…
But in the middle of this other clip, when Maggie appears with a riffle, Maggie's bedroom appears just above the dinning room (where I placed her bedroom):
.
The position of the bedrooms and other secondary stes awitches continuously according to the necesities of the screenwritters.
Remember, this is not a real house, don't try to find logic or coherence...

Weird. I never remember the playrooms on ground floor, two rooms on right. But Like I think you said, they weren't showed much but in three episodes? But pretty cool. The first one I've ever seen is your big bang theory floor plans. Love these :)

Hello.
.
Sorry, but usually I don't make floorplans by request.
It's a very hard work (from 20, 30 hours or more) and not all the houses from series are viables.
Some are incompletes, other incoherents, others...
Also actually I have a lot of work drawing handmade originals (for the customers that have purchased these items in my Etsy store) and I delayed the creation of new floorplans.
The list of future projets is veeeery long but I will add your sugestion...
.
My best wishes to you.

The simpson house never quite made sense haha. Like what is the room behind the kitchen? it never quite added up. Is it a playroom?
I like how you've used single episodes to help put the pieces together, really great work and big dedication!!

Yes...
Everything switches positions in the series...
Normally the stairs to the basement are near to the kitchen but Its position has never been clearly. And suddenly, in the episode in witch Homer destilates alcohol, the entry to the basement was in the door of the hall, behind the main stairs.
But normally behind this door was a closet. Sometimes as a wardrobe (remember the 3D episode) and other times full of shelves.
The windows in the bedrooms of Lisa and Bart had views over the backyard but in one episode Bart was the witness of a murder in Flanders house. I don't know if, for that episode, his bedroom was moved to the left wing or if Flanders house was moved to the backyard...
A complete nonsense...
.
In this drawing the room in the right upper side of the first floor is a recreation room.
This rumpus room has only been seen in a few episodes. It is seen
in "Three Men and a Comic Book", "Separate Vocations", and "Lady
Bouvier's Lover". The above diagram is consistent with those
episodes. In "Radio Bart" it is seen, but looks different (no
built in cabinets.
Also I added a little bathroom between the kitchen and this rumpus room.
A bathrom that never has appered.
But in "The Canine Mutiny" a new dog, Laddie, flushs a toilet and inmediately appears coming from this part of the house so It's obvious (and very logic in a house like this) that a bathrom or a powder room was in the grond floor.

There also was an episode where after a difficult commute to work, Homer parked across the fence from his own backyard.
While this floor-plan may not be correct for all episodes, it was a lot of very well done work! Good job!

The inconstistency applies to their backyard too. Sometimes they have a good view on the prison or the school, and when Lisa gets a restraining order against Bart, they have a huge backyard that leads to a wood and a river... while we can clearly see a very small backyard when they build a fort out of carboard boxes and get attacked by the box company... with a nazgul...

All your floorplan drawings are totally brilliant, so fine and detailed... Love it ! Unfortunately I don't watch any of these TV shows (yeah, I don't like Friends or The Simpsons, don't kill me...), so I can't compare your art with the actual houses/apartments. How about doing some of the houses in Twin Peaks ? I don't know if you watch that show, but they have a LOT of interior scenes in typical 1990s American houses. I'd love to see that. ;)

Hello.
My favourite series are "Six fett under", "Northern Exposure" and of course "Twin Peaks"...
But the truth is that the houses of the sitcoms have become more popular than the houses of these other series...
Maybe in a future I will draw something from "Twin Peaks"...
The house of Laura Palmer (with or without a white horse) would be a good option...
