The apartments of Will Truman, Grace Adler and Jak MacFarland from the show “Will & Grace”.
And "Café Jacques" too...
.
Some sets have changed throughout the different seasons and this floorplan is a mixture of various of them.
This is a hand drawed plan, in scale, coloured with colour pencils and with full details of furniture, fabric, timbers and complements…
The design is made according with the “real” apartment respecting the spaces, proportions, furniture and objets presents in the studio set.
.
Note about the landing:
The position of the WIC and the bathroom in Will's bedroom make it almost impossible to show the distribution of the landing as it appears in the set.

Wait. How can Will's bathroom be all the way there when it was supposed to be separated from Grace's toilet by just one wall? Because there was an episode where Grace knocked down a wall...and stuff...

Yes...
Probably you can find a lot of mistakes like this.
Grace doesn't have an ensuite bathroom in her bethroom.
She uses the common bathroom behind the fireplace.
That scene happens in the episode 1x03.
Grace is in the bathroom and knocks the wall to warn Will that is in his particular bathroom.
But that wall is the wall to the hallway !!!
See this episode and think a little bit about the situation of the door to the apartment, the door to this common bathrom and the space between the fireplace and the hallway.
.
It's simply mathematic:
- The common bathroom's entry it's place behind the fireplace.
- Will's bedtoom's entrance it's parallel to the entrance of the common bathroom.
- The entry door to Will's bathroom it's behind his bed, in front of the door to the bedroom.
So both bathrooms are placed in parallel, not one behind the other.
.
Do you agree with that the small common bathroom is placed behind the fireplace ???
Do you agree with that Will's bedroom entry is well placed to the right at the end of the corridor ???
Do you agree with that Will's bathroom is placed in a door in front of the entry door to his bedroom ???
If you answer "yes" to these questions you maybe ypu can understand that the mistakes are in the concept of the scenes, not in this floorplan...
.
And in 4X07 you can see and absurdily large new version of the common bathroom (the one behind the fireplace) made different and bigger because the forth actors they have to go inside him...
The bathroom of Will in that episode is absurdily big and I adapted the distribution to fit in this floorplan.
.
Curiously that bathroom switches his position through the series.
In some episodes the entry to that bathroom is the door of the left (as in the 8x15 when Will enters in the bathroom through this door to offer a glass o water to Grace, dressed as a bride) but in other episode Will opens that door and is full of clothes cause is the closet and in 2X24 the bathroom is placed in the door of the right.
Crazy...
.
Remembre, this is not a real house.
I try to draw as real house fitting all the elements that appears in the series.
But I'm not the designer or the sets or the writer of the scripts.
I only draw what I see.

This is AMAZING! I'm currently re-watching the series right now, I'm on season 6. It's unbelievable how many times that main bathroom in Will & Grace's apartment changes through the years! lol But it's normal for TV shows to not be consistent. It's too bad we didn't get to see more of Karen's penthouse. I wish I was a billionaire, I'd buy a building & build fully functional apartment replica's from my fav shows on each floor! lol

Hi,

I am amazed about the job you have done with the sketches Wow!

I am particularly surprised that the neighbor Mr. Zamir is living in a closet (aka 9B)...
It is true that in shows like this they can quickly rearrange the whole apartment/house as they please.

Bravo anyways and many thanks!

Yes...
Making this drawing I have two options:
- Fit the bedroom of Will or fit the apartment 9B.
Obviusly there are not a real apartment so I decide to draw an storage room to mantain, at least, one door in that place of the hallway...
Don't try to find logic to a studio set...

this is really amazing stuff! really well put together! line weights are great (though a few of the bathroom walls need to be thicker then the partitio walls for plumbing, in canada i think it's 6" to code?) also i cant seem to see the fridge in jak's working triangle?

awesome work!
